Brosnan is releasing a limited edition lithograph of his 2017 painting titled Dylan,  which sold for $1.4 million at auction during amfAR’s 25th Annual Cinema Against AIDS event in Cannes.

“Dylan’s music roared into my life with the albums Blood on the Tracks (1975) and Desire (1976). My interest in painting Dylan was to capture that enigmatic moment of time in his life. An electrifying force of talent which ignited a generation, one that would shape the world with his colorful poetry, music and a voice all his own.” Brosnan explains. Dylan is part of an ongoing series in homage to icons, with a continued exploration into how color and form interact with the figure. Other works include paintings of Anthony Bourdain, Fidel Castro and Pablo Picasso.

The vibrantly hued lithograph depicting Dylan was created in the historical printshop, IDEM, founded in Montparnasse in 1881. Formerly known as Atelier Mourlot, the 15,000 square foot studio is renowned for the revival of lithography in Paris between World War l and World War ll, hosting a pedigree of celebrated artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Miro, Dubuffet, Braque, Chagall, Giacometti, Léger, Cocteau, Calder and other masters.

This print will be available on February 1st 2021
